Clinell Easy Clean Keyboards

Many studies have shown that keyboards are reservoirs for microorganisms with 33-95% of them positive for MDROs and 26% were contaminated with C. difficile.

The degree of contamination observed is high enough to allow transmission via contaminated hands, and studies have shown that healthcare workers rarely clean their hands after keyboard use. Guidelines recommend hospitals have washable keyboards or keyboard covers in areas accessed by patients, and that keyboards and mice should be disinfected daily. It can be difficult and time consuming however to effectively clean conventional keyboards.

Clinell are excited to launch our new range of Clinell EasyClean computer accessories. They have been developed to simplify cleaning procedures and to increase compliance, they are available in wipeable silicone and conventional true type. The entire range has been manufactured to meet the rigorous IP68 specifications making them 100% waterproof and dishwasher safe. They are compatible with all hospital disinfectants and can withstand daily cleaning procedures, even with chlorine.

Our True type keyboards look and feel like a conventional keyboard, with no clumsy covers unlike many other ‘wipeable’ keyboards aimed at the healthcare sector. Our Easy clean silicone range of keyboards allow for quick and easy cleaning without any unplugging required.
